“Power Yoga is a vinyasa practice marrying tension and release for both body and mind. It’s a class intended to encourage you to experience your own personal edge, physically and mentally, as a way to attune to the present. From posture to posture, your movements are matched to breath while exploring longer holds to slowly open the body. Power Yoga is our foundational offering and its overall intention, empowerment, is at the root of each class you take at Humble Haven.
Our power yoga classes are made up of 11 energetic intentions that are practiced in the same sequential order each class. Energetically the practice is intended to carry us through an experience that spans from awakening to rest and everything in between. And, it’s the robust energetic experience that is constantly inviting us to the present moment.
From the vantage point of a teacher, I get the gift of witnessing all the different ways students approach and complete the practice that’s being offered. The shapes we create in class are an access point to getting present with how we feel at that given moment. And, despite how we each choose to access the postures, the Power of power yoga is in getting present. All we need to know is available to us only here and now.
