Abolition, Liberation, Solidarity...A Discussion
Saturday 2/17 from 4:00-5:30 PM
In collaboration with Here4TheKids RVA, we are delighted to present a new speaker series - Abolition, Liberation, Solidarity.
We will explore the links between various oppressive systems, gain insights on how abolition and liberation can play a role in your daily life, and discover the power of solidarity in dismantling these systems that perpetuate inequality.
To ensure everyone can fully participate, free childcare will be provided on-site.
Our inaugural talk will take place from 4:00-5:30pm on Saturday February 17th with Saira Rao, cofounder of Race2Dinner and Here4TheKids, moderating.
Her panelists will include: Samieh Shalash, Palestinian-American, activist and community organizer / Sonali Gulati, Queer Rights Activist and community organizer / Rev Jess Cook, Organizing Minister at Every Table / Ashley Williams, Mind-Body Therapist, Founder of BareSOUL, Curator of the Well Collective / With a special grounding meditation guided by Charles Bolling, Wellness Minister at Every Table.
For our February 17th event, 100% of your ticket price will directly support two local organizations:
Here4TheKids: an education movement committed to confronting global systems of oppression, including issues related to guns and fossil fuels
Every Table: a place for those seeking home to participate in their own healing and who seek to be part of the repair of this city, commonwealth, nation, and world through embodied reconciliation as a way of healing from white supremacy and capitalism.
