Join Taylor Koehler Saturdays 12:30-1:30pm the entire month of August as she kicks of our new series - Power Plug!
Power Plug is a rotating monthly series offered same day, same time each week and is designed to give the time and space to break down aspects of our foundational Power Yoga sequence. The best part is, it's open to anyone and everyone with packages, memberships, and single class drop-ins. In August Taylor will be breaking down binds, blocks, crow, and self assists. Keep reading for a weekly breakdown. We hope to see you there!
Week 1: Binds - Incorporating familiar binds in different postures throughout the JIP Sequence. Explore heart opening, side body stretching, shoulder rinsing. Learning the correct and safe way to approach binds so that your body can relax, deepen and hold for a longer period of time. Binds to be incorporated - Half or full, opposite elbow, shoulder rinse, archer arms, side body stretches.
Week 2: Get Grounded - Leaning into the heaviness that your body is asking for some days. Incorporating blocks as well as allowing the body to shift closer to the earth can provide stability and be stepping stones to building strength. Getting curious and staying curious about what kind of support works best for you and your body.
Week 3: Crow & Side Crow - The crow in flow. Small shifts lead to big leaps. Learn the building blocks on how to prep your body to feel strong and supported in your crow and side crow. Shifting through familiar movements in your shoulders, hips and core as you continue to build strength and teach your body how to catch flight.
Week 4: Self Assisting - Using your own hands to gain a better understanding of where your bodies are in space will give you a stronger mind-body connection, and facilitate safer, more effective alignment. Self-adjustments in yoga allow you to take control of your bodies. Diving deep into the pose in order to find your own alignment. This process of inquiry and ownership will give you more confidence in your own abilities.
